Corrections Policy
How MaishaThabiti receives, assesses and implements factual corrections and material updates.
MaishaThabiti is a living knowledge base. Corrections are part of maintaining it, not an exception to the publishing process.
What can be corrected
Corrections may address factual errors, outdated requirements, inaccurate descriptions, broken source relationships, mistaken identity, duplicated subjects, incorrect classifications, missing context or other issues that could materially change a user’s understanding or decision.
What helps us assess a correction
- The page, subject or record concerned.
- The specific statement or data point believed to be wrong or outdated.
- The proposed correction or the current position as you understand it.
- A reliable source or explanation supporting the correction, where available.
- Any date, location, programme version or other context that may explain why two sources differ.
How requests are assessed
We evaluate the evidence rather than automatically accepting or rejecting a request because it comes from a subject, provider, competitor, institution or member of the public. Where the issue is time-sensitive, we may confirm the current position with the body responsible for the fact.
Minor updates and material corrections
Minor wording, formatting or clarity changes may be made without a formal correction note. If an error materially affected the meaning of a page, an eligibility interpretation, a comparison or another decision-relevant conclusion, the update should be handled with greater transparency.
Disagreement is not always an error
A provider may disagree with an independent comparison or a user may prefer a different interpretation. We will consider credible evidence, but a request to change a conclusion is not automatically a correction unless the underlying facts, method or reasoning are inaccurate or materially incomplete.
How to report an issue
Use the Contact Us page and clearly identify the page or subject concerned. If a verified contact channel has not yet been published on that page, the site operator should add one before relying on the corrections process for public submissions.
What we want from corrections
The objective is not to defend an old version of the site. It is to improve the accuracy, traceability and usefulness of the knowledge base when better evidence becomes available.
